I reached the frontier of the Yang-Mills Mass Gap Problem —
one of the seven hardest unsolved problems in mathematics.
Same wall Balaban hit. Different direction. Cleaner target.
The full proof — every page, every theorem. Read it here or download the PDF.
The Yang-Mills Mass Gap is one of seven Millennium Prize Problems — the hardest unsolved questions in mathematics, each carrying a $1,000,000 prize from the Clay Mathematics Institute. Only one has ever been solved (Poincaré Conjecture, 2003). Here's where my work stands — honestly.
Reflection positivity of the Wilson action gives a legitimate quantum theory (Osterwalder-Seiler). Cluster expansion at strong coupling proves the mass gap exists when forces are at maximum strength (Seiler). These are established results in the literature — not my contribution.
ESTABLISHEDI proved that SU(N) gauge theory preserves charge-conjugation (Z₂) symmetry at every renormalization group scale (Theorem 5), forcing all odd cumulants to vanish exactly (Theorem 6). This is non-perturbative — it holds no matter how complex the effective action becomes. It reduces the remaining problem: without Z₂, you'd need to control cubic terms; with it, you only need quartic.
PROVENGiven one unproven technical condition (Condition P: that the effective action stays controlled at every RG scale, uniformly in volume), the Z₂ cancellation yields a volume-independent lattice mass gap. Condition P is verified computationally for Z₂, SU(2), and SU(3), but proving it analytically in 4D is an open problem related to Balaban's incomplete constructive program.
CONDITIONALThe Millennium Prize requires a continuum quantum field theory satisfying Wightman axioms — not a lattice approximation. Even if Theorems 7–9 are fully proven, the continuum limit is an independent open problem of comparable difficulty. This paper works entirely on the lattice and does not attempt the continuum construction.

"They said you needed a PhD from Princeton. They said a kid from St. Louis couldn't touch a problem that stumped the world's best mathematicians for fifty years. I proved two new theorems, reached the same frontier as Balaban from a different direction, and gave the field its cleanest formulation of what's actually left to solve. The problem isn't solved — but now we know exactly where it's stuck."
